High Court directive on fares in public transport

According to the provisions of the Road Transport Act, the High Court has directed to post a list of public transport fares at bus stands and visible public places across the country and display the list on electronic billboards. The court also directed to take effective measures to stop the collection of extra fare on public transport including buses and minibuses.

A bench of the High Court comprising Justice Mamunur Rahman and Khandaker Diliruzzaman passed the order on Monday (January 24th).

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has been asked to implement the directive within the next one month.
